il Grande Carnevale XLI – 41st Annual Carnevale
Costume Ball Spectacular
È arrivato l’inverno (Winter has come)
ICC gala is set for Saturday, February 22
We hope you have prepared yourself for the Italian Community Center’s SOCIAL EVENT OF THE YEAR, for Winter has come.
il Grande Carnevale, the ICC’s pre-Lent costume and masquerade ball, will be held on Saturday, Feb. 22, 2020, beginning at 5:11 p.m., with cocktails and appetizers in the Galleria.
The theme for il Grande Carnevale 2020 is È arrivato l’inverno (Winter has come). The snow white atmosphere will be stunning, for we shall bask in its beauty without the accompanying cold dry harsh weather.
There will be pageantry, costumes and Venetian-style masks, celebrating an Italian tradition dating back to the 15th century, not to mention dinner, dancing, sweets table and fireworks – a full, spectacular evening for the price of $50/Members and $60/Non-Members.
Come for the celebration of Italian tradition, friendship, dancing, food, tantalizing sweets table, booming Bartolotta fireworks, and the coronation of the ICC’s Royal Court. Come for the song of ice and fire.
Dinner: DELICIOUS sit-down dinner and dessert by Bartolotta Catering – choice of the following:
Braised Short Ribs of beef with Yukon gold potato puree, carrots and red wine reduction.
Chicken Scaloppine with lemon caper piccata, campanelle pasta and seasonal vegetables.
Soft Polenta with stewed tomatoes, zucchini, mushrooms and arugula salad (Vegetarian Option)
Special Children’s Menu – Chicken Tenders, French Fries, Fruit Salad
Dancing: Dance the cold away. Music On The Move Plus will provide music for guests of all ages throughout the evening.
Performances: Tradizione Vivente, the Italian Dance Group of Milwaukee, and I Bei Bambini, the Children’s Italian Dance Group, will set the festive mood for the evening with the music, costumes and folk dancing of Italy.
Costumes and Masks: Express your inner extravagance or your inner child by celebrating the evening in costume and mask – bring a little bit of Venezia to the ICC.
Silent Auction: We will once again host the magnificent Carnevale Silent Auction with many wonderful items available for bid – food, wine, event tickets and much much more. The Auction will be held from 5:11 pm until 9:11 pm, first in the Galleria and then in the Main Ballroom. A very special Surprise Live Auction will also be held during the evening. We of course will accept credit/debit cards and checks for the winning bids, but you may also want to have a little cash on hand for a super fun opportunity to win some “Winter” cold hard cash. So be ready to grab something for you or your family to enjoy.
Royalty: No Carnevale would be complete without the coronation of a Royal Court. The following well-deserving individuals have been selected to represent the ICC as 2020 Carnevale Royalty:

i Nonni – Steven Taylor and Marisa Gatti-Taylor
